Eagles Cheerleader Kyle Tanguay reflects on the life-changing American Idol experience

While Kyle Tanguay’s run on American Idol has come to an end, the chance to sing on the award-winning show left a lasting impression. After being named the first male Eagles Cheerleader in more than three decades, the University of the Arts senior added another feat to his impressive resume.

“This whole experience was a breath of fresh air,” Kyle said. “It was exciting and stressful, but being able to go to Hollywood and do something completely new and different; it opened my eyes to a new world. It showed me all the things I want to do in the entertainment industry. .”

Kyle received advice from music icons Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie during the process. She is grateful for the lessons learned along the way, but she is most grateful for the friendships she made while competing for the title of American Idol.

“I’ve always been interested in learning about different artists, whether they’re musicians, designers, dancers, or writers,” Kyle said. “It was a unique experience to go to Hollywood and be in a room with people from different backgrounds with the same goal. I met so many amazing people through this journey and made so many close friends.”

Another competitor Kyle became very close to was his online partner Grace Lundy of Lincoln, Nebraska. The two were put together once when they arrived in Hollywood. He’s even an Eagles fan in support of Kyle!

“I was lucky to be paired with Grace,” Kyle said. “We come from completely different backgrounds, but we all supported each other. I told him about the Eagles’ trip to the tournament. I also gave him Eagles gear and now he plans to wear it proudly. midnight green this fall Sunday to cheer on the Eagles from Nebraska.”

Prior to the start of this tour, Kyle had never performed for anyone other than his college roommates. The Eagles Cheerleader not only performed for millions of fans watching on TV, but also received a yes from the all-star panel of judges to get the golden ticket to Hollywood. While his time on American Idol has come to an end, Kyle is already gearing up for another run.

“I am very proud to represent the Eagles organization on this scale and share that passion with everyone. I learned a lot about the music industry during my time on American Idol,” he said. “I am happy to try again next season and I will work hard to improve in this competition.
