DALLAS, Texas — Dreams do come true.
Amber Laiche, a 2017 Sandpoint High graduate, earned a spot on the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, one of the most iconic dance teams in the country.
The final 36-person roster was revealed during the season finale of the CMT television show, “Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team,” this past Friday.
The show aired every week from mid-September and followed the journeys of all 52 training camp candidates hoping to take a place in this year’s team.
“I’ve danced my whole life and to officially say I’m a professional dancer means everything to me,” Laiche wrote in a post on her Facebook page. “However, I didn’t get here alone. There are so many people, friends and family who played a big role in getting me where I am today.”
Laiche was a member of the SHS dance team throughout her high school career, serving as team captain her senior year. The Bulldogs placed annually in the state dance championships during her tenure.
Laiche started dancing shortly after learning to walk. She was born and raised just outside of New Orleans and competed in every kind of genre growing up; from jazz to lyrical to hip-hop. At the age of 12, her family decided to move to Sandpoint.
Laiche graduated from the University of Montana this spring with a bachelor’s degree in dance and was a member of the UM dance team during her time in Missoula.
Laiche watched the CMT reality show growing up like many aspiring professional dancers, and is now a member of the prestigious Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.
“Being part of this sisterhood has no price and I will never take it for granted,” she wrote in the post on Facebook.
