The Seattle Seahawks 12 North crew is coming to Vancouver

The 12 North tour brings a crew from Seattle, including a “legend”, cheerleaders and their drumline

As the team heads to California in mid-September, the Seattle Seahawks are sending a whole bunch of people north of the border.

The NFL team will send a large crew to Metro Vancouver for week two of the league next month, including Seahawks legend K.J. Wright, their mascot Blitz, the Seahawks Dancers and the Blue Thunder Drumline.

The tour begins Friday, September 16 in Coquitlam when the Seahawks crew will show up along with some BC Lions to give a high school football game the premier league treatment. The Seahawks run a program called Blue Friday Night Lights; that means NFL game day entertainment for the local teams.

The event starts at 6 p.m. at Centennial Secondary School’s new football pitch, kick-off at 7pm.

A Youth Flag Football Clinic will continue on September 17th. A Skills Camp hosted by the Seahawks is held for children ages 5-14 to learn the basics of football. Wright will also be there along with the rest of the crew. The camp will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Notre Dame High School in Vancouver; Parents must register their offspring here.

Later on Saturday they head to North Vancouver at 2:30pm for the Shipyards Festival. hanging out in the Shipyards District in Lower Lonsdale and taking photos with fans. At 2:40 p.m. Blue Thunder will perform.

The tour will culminate on Sunday, September 18, when the Seahawks take on the 49ers in San Francisco. While the team is playing in California, the tour crew will be hanging out at Jack Poole Plaza for a watch party on a very large screen. Food trucks and a beer garden will be set up on site and there will be a DJ performing with the Seahawk Dancers and Blue Thunder.

The party starts at 12:00 p.m. with kick-off at 1:05 p.m. It’s a free event, but people are encouraged to register as well (and registrants are entered for prizes).
