Veterans, VA staff and visitors at the Dorn facility were treated to a surprise visit Tuesday from two of the Carolina Panthers cheerleaders, and team mascot “Sir Purr.” The “Super Cats,” as these young ladies are known, visited veterans, posed for pictures and shared their team spirit with Panther fans.
The visit was coordinated by the Panthers Community Relations department. Columbia is considered a military community with the VA Hospital, Fort Jackson, and nearby Shaw Air Force Base all located within the area.
“The military is one of our main focus areas,” said Jill Cole, Assistant Community Relations Director for the Panthers organization. The Top Cats, Sir Purr, and the PurrCussian drum are available for venues including charity, corporate and school functions as well.
