The road to becoming a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader is paved with long hours, lots of practice, lots of sweat and a few tears along the way. After many years of preparation, it has paid off for a young woman in Longview.
As with cheerleaders of all ages and stages within sports, being a member of the team cheering on ‘America’s Team’ or any professional sports team should be the ultimate goal. A young woman from Longview has achieved this lofty goal thanks to many years of dedication to her craft.
Kelee Norris announced on her Instagram account last weekend that she is now an official cheerleader for the Dallas Cowboys. Longview is very proud of this young woman who put in many hours at her Longview dance studio along with combined hours in high school and during her time as a member of the Kilgore College Rangerettes team where she served as to right middle lieutenant.
Kelee’s journey, as with all Cowboys cheerleaders, is exhausting. There are countless tests, practices, rehearsals and performances to prove they have what it takes to make the team in hopes of not getting cut during the audition process. The team’s journey this year was chronicled in a CMT episode of the show ‘Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making The Team’, where Kelli McGonagill Finglass and Judy Trammell, director and choreographer respectively, show what it takes to becoming a member and then ultimately revealing to the team that he did. When they break this news, it’s just pure joy and jubilation for these women and also for Kelee, who is featured in the video.
One of the most fascinating parts of Kelee’s story is shown in her Instagram post of her posing in her Kilgore College Rangerettes uniform with two of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders three years ago and then posing with the same two women when he formed the team. It must be an amazing feeling and also a very proud moment. We would like to congratulate Kelee Norris of Longview on her success in becoming a cheerleader for the Dallas Cowboys.
