Eva Mendes goes into mom mode.
The Hitch star, 48, took to Instagram on Friday to share a black and white photo of herself in a bathrobe eating cereal at the kitchen table. Her exhausted expression was explained in the caption. She wrote: “It’s been a long work week. Before I jump into mommy clothes, take a moment where I am the chauffeur, personal chef, stylist, therapist, cheerleader and assistant to my delicious kids.”
Mendes is mother to daughters Esmeralda (7) and Amada (6). She shares her little ones with her longtime partner Ryan Gosling, who she began dating after they met on the set of the 2012 film The Place Beyond the Pines.
Followers loved Mendes’ candid contribution. One commented: “The many hats of motherhood!” Another added: “The most rewarding and never ending job.”
In June, the Ghost Rider actress spoke to Yahoo Life about raising her children while working on her professional projects. She shared that she wants to instill a sense of confidence in her daughters.
“I just want to be able to show my girls, especially [since] they’re girls, that no, you can change and change and you can change your mind at any time, and you can change your major, change your decision,” she explained. “Not to say it’s going to be easy and… you’re probably going to ‘fail’ more than you’ll succeed, but that’s part of it. And I want to set that example by doing it, and especially by taking the shame out of failure.”
In a July interview with Byrdie, Mendes also shared that she wants to teach her children how to take care of their physical and mental well-being.
“I try to educate them about what we eat and what we put in our bodies and how that manifests itself physically, whether it’s how we look or how we feel,” she said. “Hopefully Ryan and I get the job done by just loving them, loving them completely, and doing most of the work for them so they grow up feeling like they’re enough.”
