Ohio State opens its 2022 season against Notre Dame in five days.
The Week 0 football games were just fun. For the next five days, we are preparing for a grand entry ceremony.
It’s what we’ve been waiting for since New Year’s Day when Ohio State beat Utah in the Rose Bowl. On Saturday, the Buckeyes are back.
Before we get there, let’s have a great week, shall we?
PUBLIC ATTENTION TBDBITL. ESPN approached the Ohio State traveling team to have one of its members participate in a long-running college football commercial that will air on the network this fall. TBDBITL has sent voice actor Avery Voress as its representative.
Voress, who will make the “i” in Script Ohio when the Buckeyes face Michigan on Nov. 26. he said he feels proud to represent Ohio State and the team that marches in business.
“It was a wonderful opportunity to represent TBDBITL at the national level,” Voress said. “I’m very happy to have had this experience, and I’m very excited for this 2022 season. I’ll see you on top of the ‘i’!
The commercial promotes ESPN’s college football coverage for this fall. Former Ohio State quarterback Kirk Herbstreit delivers a speech in Voress with a crowd of mascots, cheerleaders, alumni and fans from around the country.
Voress even sat next to the Michigan audience during filming. However, this clip of theirs did not make it to the final commercial:
During the filming, Avery was sitting next to two (pretty good) players from the club up north. They brought that glory down, even though it didn’t make it to the final commercial. #GoBucks pic.twitter.com/4vTYFPDDGee
Voress and Herbstreit shared a one-on-one conversation during the shoot. Herbstreit told him that Ohio State’s marching band lives up to its title as “The Best Damn Band in the Land,” saying Buckeye fans understand how important the band is to the game day experience. .
“At Ohio State, players don’t leave at halftime,” Herbstreit said. “During the break, everyone goes in to watch the band. What an honor.”
YOU’RE AWESOME! MY MANAGER! The third edition of Ohio State’s football coaching videos was released on Sunday. Safety Kourt Williams and his position coach Perry Eliano revealed to Williams’ parents that he has been named the team’s captain for the 2022 season.
a call to the family of @kourt22williams to let them know he is officially a Buckeye Captain pic.twitter.com/WrslQNjheP
After laughing so hard that Williams’ parents believed their son was in trouble, Eliano regained his composure and told them the third-year Buckeye was one of the leaders. seniors of the football program this past season and was rewarded with the honor of being captain.
“Kourt was great,” Eliano said in the video. “You deserve him. This was voted on by his colleagues and peers. He’s worked his tail off and does all the little things well. It is very suitable. ”
Williams played in 11 games for Ohio State last season and made his first team start against Utah. He recorded 27 tackles, four tackles for loss, one sack and a pass breakup in those contests.
While Josh Proctor, Tanner McCalister and Ronnie Hickman are expected to be the starting three safeties, Williams is also expected to be part of the rotation in 2022, and his leadership will be crucial to the success of the Buckeyes.
DAILY DAILY. He is clearly a Cleveland sports fan. On Saturday, former Buckeye and current Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields picked my favorite Browns in the first round of the NFL preseason game.
While it’s hard to watch Cleveland’s defense repeat the Swiss cheese in a number of holes in the back seven, I would have liked to see Fields throw darts to a few different receivers as part of the process. where he went 14-of-16 for 156 yards and three touchdowns.
Yes, it stinks to watch the Browns lose, but at least the Ohio State legend was largely responsible for beating them.
Last season, Fields threw for 1,870 yards with seven touchdowns and 10 interceptions as a rookie. The numbers weren’t great, but neither Bears player in 2021 was very good. Chicago’s front office made several offseason moves to weaken the team, signaling that a rebuilding season was coming. Unfortunately, that means these numbers may not be any better for Fields and his teammates in 2022.
Ohio State and Bears fans may need to enjoy this performance from the second-year quarterback, as they may see his potential shine again this season behind the offensive line and in the receiver room on the outside. to Darnell Mooney.
TICKETS ARE NOT DEAD. If you attended an Ohio State football game last season, you needed a smartphone that could issue tickets to enter Ohio Stadium. Gone are the days when a printed ticket would get you into a football match. It was time to move with the times and make everything digital.
However, that doesn’t mean ticket stubs are dead.
Ohio State athletics announced over the weekend that a company called Stub-e will sell official commemorative tickets for the 2022 football season. The printed tickets will have special designs that fans can which chooses according to their seat locations. They will also provide commentary on the tournament games.

Pre-order: tickets, tickets, sports tickets and more! #GoBucks
According to a release from the athletic department, fans can pre-order and reserve their commemorative stubs for eight home games at a discounted rate. Additionally, a limited edition ticket honoring Ohio Stadium’s 100th anniversary will be sold while supplies last.
If you’re old school like me, you’ll appreciate having a sign that will remind you of the good times. I still have a few tickets to sporting events I used to go to as a kid, and good memories always come rushing back when I see them.
If you want something to remember about a season in which Ohio State has legitimate national title aspirations and three Heisman Trophy finalists on offense, this might be the way to do it.
