LUBBOCK, Texas (June 23, 2022) – Lubbock Christian University athletic director Scott Larson has selected Whitney Sales as the new head cheerleading coach, overseeing the competitive cheer program at LCU. & # xD;

  • Sales joins the LCU Athletic Department after serving the previous two seasons at Wayland Baptist as head cheer coach. At Wayland Baptist, Sales directed a program that claimed numerous UCA College Camp cheer and leadership awards, and won a pair of national titles (Collegiate Gameday National Champions at Texas Grand Nationals and Collegiate Gameday Sideline National Champions at Cheer America in Round Rock, Texas). Sales, a resident of Idalou, Texas, previously served as the cheer director and head cheer coach at Southcrest Christian School from 2015-2019, where he also served as the golf coach. She helped lead Southcrest to a pair of All-State titles in cheer. Sales has also choreographed Paducah High School to five consecutive UIL state titles (2015-2019) and Munday Menengah to 2021 UIL state title. & # xD;

Sales takes over LCU’s competitive cheer program which has claimed a pair of CCA (Christian Cheerleaders of America) Grand Collegiate Champion national titles (2020 and 2021). LCU, which added competitive cheer in 2018, has finished fourth in each of the past two seasons at the NCA College Nationals in Daytona Beach, Fla.
