While Thursday’s Hall of Fame Game was the official Jaguars pre-season opening, Friday’s pre-season opening against the Cleveland Browns at TIAA Bank Field seems more important. This is especially true for attack, and it will be the first chance to see the 22nd version of one of the team’s most watched groups: the offensive line. A number of Jaguar starters – left-winger Cam Robinson, left-back Tyler Shatley, center-Luke Fortner, right-back Brandon Scherff and right-winger Walker Little / Jawaan Taylor – are due to play on Friday. This is a group that looks much improved at the camp so far, with Robinson possibly having the best camp in his six-year career, and Scherff looking very similar to the five-time Pro Bowl selection Washington was before he signed with the Jaguars as unlimited free agent in march. Fortner played well in the pre-season opening, and the third selection round in the NFL Draft 2022 gave no indication that he couldn’t handle the responsibility of starting mid as a rookie. Rivalry in the right wing will be a key storyline on Friday, with Taylor expecting to play after he left the Hall of Fame match with a hamstring injury. He and Little will be rotating, which is a big moment for both players – but especially for Taylor, as his first opportunity in an action game for a new coaching staff.

I try not to get excited about the wide receiver during the first few weeks of camp; after all, no one is shooting at them. But it’s hard to watch the chemistry build up between quarterback Trevor Lawrence and wide receiver Zay Jones and not think they might have something special. Little did I know about Jones before he signed with the Jaguars as an unrestricted free agent in March; We’ve only seen the raiders in person once during his time in the NFL, and he only caught five yards in the last NFL game at Oakland in 2019. I knew it was fast, but it is bigger than I thought and it has really nice runs. This may interest you : Physics, competition and surprises at AT&T Training Camp | Falcons Audible Podcast. It’s easy to see why Lawrence is looking for him from the side, but the mid-stakes timing routes really stood out on Wednesday. Lawrence tossed into the spot twice and the ball was perfectly placed in Jones’ hands as Jones was perfectly placed just outside the defender’s reach. Christian Kirk is a known and well-known receiver of the Jaguar’s big money, but Jones could be an inferior receiver that this team lacked in what seems to be eternal. It’s hard not to notice him.

The jaguars took off their fenders on Wednesday and they worked for almost two hours. It was nice to hear head coach Doug Pederson’s philosophy for the live performance period from Sunday and next week. He will only plan a few days of fighting live against this camp: matches are coming up as well as a few days of practicing against the Atlanta Falcons before the pre-season final. It seems that the Jaguar team does not shy away from exercising and working in a training camp, as there is an ambition to keep this organization moving in the right direction. It starts with being physically ready to get the job done.

Friday was an important news with the Jaguars on Wednesday. Pederson said the starters will play in several series which is important for the return of Travis Etienne Jr. – who will return to the game after missing his rookie season in 2021. On Wednesday’s practice session, Kirk was on the side and missed the team exercise after collapsing his ankle on Monday; he had an ankle sleeve. Cornerback Tyson Campbell was once again the star of Wednesday’s training camp. He had the game of the day in my eyes and Lawrence threw a beautiful ball from 40 yards on target to Zay Jones and Campbell jumping over Jones to interrupt the pass. No flag. It was an impressive second-year corner kick game. Everyone notices him.
