The Eagles announced the following roster moves Thursday morning ahead of the preseason opener against the New York Jets:
Torrey worked out for the Eagles on Wednesday. The rookie free agent out of North Texas provides depth as Kenneth Gainwell is dealing with a hip injury and Boston Scott is in the concussion protocol. The Eagles also have Miles Sanders, Jason Huntley, and Kennedy Brooks at running back.
The 5-foot-7, 195-pound Torrey gained 3,228 rushing yards, 436 receiving yards, and scored 40 total touchdowns at North Texas. This past season, Torrey posted 1,215 rushing yards. Before playing at North Texas, Torrey rushed for 1,298 yards and 12 touchdowns in nine games for Gulf Coast Junior College. Torrey was an all-state selection at Gautier High School (MS).

Wheatfall was sidelined with a hamstring injury. He originally signed with the Eagles as a rookie free agent after participating in the Rookie Minicamp on a tryout basis.
