Bring It On: Cheer or The images provide a glimpse of the cheerleading horror film

Universal has teamed up with Syfy to make a horror thriller entry in their long-running Bring It On franchise, and while we don’t yet know when exactly this seventh Bring It On movie – which was titled Bring It On: Cheer or Die – will be released (it is expected to premiere on Syfy sometime this fall), a lot of images have arrived online to give us a look at what this film will have in store for us. You can check them out at the bottom of this article, courtesy of our friends at Bloody Disgusting.

A Universal 1440 Entertainment and Beacon Pictures production, Bring It On: Cheer Or Die is directed by Karen Lam (Ghost Wars) from a screenplay by Rebekah McKendry (Glorious) and Dana Schwartz (She-Hulk), based on a story by Alyson Fouse (Bring It On: Fight to the Finish). The film will follow

cheer squad as they practice their routines during the night in an abandoned school on Halloween weekend where one by one, the teenagers fall victim to a deranged assailant.

Kerri Medders (SEAL Team), Tiera Skovbye (Midnight Sun), and Missi Pyle (Y: The Last Man) star.

Bring It On: Cheer or Die was produced by Griff Furst, with Beacon Pictures’ Armyan Bernstein and Charlie Lyons executive producing and Tony Gonzalez and C. Eve Stewart co-producing. Gonzalez is also the choreographer.

Universal 1440 Entertainment’s Glenn Ross had this to say about the project:

We are excited to join forces with SYFY to continue this ever-popular franchise with an all-new rate from renowned filmmaker Karen Lam, the first female director of the film series. A fresh take on the franchise’s historically comedic films, this next chapter showcases a diverse and talented cast and will entertain long-time fans of the Bring It On films as well as open the doors to a legion of ‘ fans who enjoy thrillers.”

The Bring It On franchise began with a theatrical release in 2000. Five direct-to-video sequels followed: Bring It On Again, Bring It On: All or Nothing, Bring It On: In It to Win It, Bring It On: Fight to the Finish, and Bring It On: Worldwide Cheersmack.

I’m way behind on the Bring It On movies…actually, I’ve never seen any of the sequels…but I get the feeling it doesn’t really matter. Bring It On: Cheer or Die looks like it’s going to offer some mindless fun, so I’m looking forward to checking it out this fall.
