Karlyn Nessa makes her debut as a Viking cheerleader

DULUTH, MN. (KBJR) – This past Sunday, the Minnesota Vikings took the field for the first time this season and were joined on the field for the first time this year by Northland native Karlyn Nessa.

Karlyn made her regular season debut last Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium as a cheerleader for the Minnesota Vikings. She is a 2019 graduate of Hermantown High School and also cheered at the University of St. Thomas, where he graduated this year. Karlyn tried out for the Vikings’ cheerleading squad after being a dancer since she was two years old. She made the team in May and got to live her dream Sunday as a Vikings cheerleader.

Nessa said: “It was crazy! It was really strong, but the energy in the building kept me going the whole time. It’s tough, it’s a lot to be out there, it gets tiring, just the energy of the fans and the game that was going on was amazing and just being around my teammates was a great day too. I wanted to soak it in as well, I’d already been to that pre-season game and I knew what it was like and what to expect. This time I wanted to look around a little bit more, take it all in, and this time I was like, oh my god, I’m a Minnesota Vikings cheerleader, so that was cool.”

Karlyn credits her parents for her success as they helped her get to this point as a dancer.
