NFL fans who attended the clash between the Atlanta Falcons and New York Jets at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium were able to witness glittering entertainment.

About 60,000 American Football enthusiasts made their way to the Spurs grounds, which also included Chairman Daniel Levy, and got to see some fireworks and cheerleading squads.

Tottenham and Levy signed a 10-year deal with the NFL and were set to host two or more games annually from 2018 onwards.

But construction delays put the deal on hold, and so the first game in 2019 was held between the Chicago Bears and the Oakland Raiders.

After today’s spectacle, the Miami Dolphins and Jacksonville Jaguars will play on the ground next week.

This comes after it was announced that the North Londoners’ multi-purpose site will be incorporated into Madden 22.

NFL UK director Alistair Kirkwood told the Daily Mail in 2017: “All credit should go to Levy.

“We had several initial talks with Spurs after they made the commitment to build the new stadium, so the timing was right.

“Then you need someone like Daniel with the vision to do something that hasn’t been done before and to think really big.

“It’s a combination of the timing and the vision. It took a long time.

“When you’re doing something that’s never been done before, it’s not easy.

“But Spurs’ management and ownership had the vision to build the stadium they envisioned for us.”
