Jason Kelce announces he is returning for the 2022 season

One of the Eagles’ biggest offseason questions was answered Thursday when All-Pro center Jason Kelce announced he will return for the 2022 season.

“I’m definitely not retiring from playing for the Philadelphia Eagles,” Kelce said in a hilarious announcement video on social media. “I’m having way too much fun doing it. I’m looking forward to another year, Philadelphia. And to all my teammates, let’s dominate.”

Originally selected by the Eagles in the sixth round of the 2011 NFL Draft out of Cincinnati, Kelce has blossomed into the NFL’s best center and one of the most beloved players in franchise history.

The Eagles’ nominee for the 2021 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award, Kelce also earned All-Pro honors for the fourth time and Pro Bowl honors for the fifth time in his Hall of Fame-worthy career.

The iron man among all NFL centers, Kelce will have the chance to extend his streak of 122 consecutive regular season games played. No Eagles center has started that many consecutive games since the 1970 merger. He is the first center for any team to start at least 100 consecutive games since Chris Myers from 2007-14 (123 games). If Kelce plays more than 10 games in the regular season next season, he will set a new franchise record among offensive linemen (currently at 159).

A team captain, Kelce anchored the NFL’s top-ranked rushing attack as the Eagles averaged nearly 160 yards per carry. game and scored 25 touchdowns on the ground last season.

Kelce’s value to the Eagles extends beyond the field of play. Orator of the greatest championship parade speech of all time, Kelce’s charitable efforts have impacted numerous nonprofit organizations in and around the Philadelphia region. Last summer, Kelce served drinks as a guest bartender in Sea Isle City, New Jersey, to raise money for the Eagles Autism Challenge. Fans flocked to the Jersey Shore to support Kelce, and together they raised $100,000 for a cause that is very personal to him and his wife Kylie.

To celebrate Kelce’s return to the Eagles, fans can register for the fifth annual Eagles Autism Challenge on May 21 and save 50% on registration by using the code Kelce22.

95 for the Eagles.
