Falcons injury report: Cordarrelle Patterson is out ahead of Week 4 matchup against Browns

Falcons fans will have to hold their breath a little longer to find out the status of Cordarrelle Patterson. After a 141-yard rushing day on Sunday, the veteran running back did not participate on Wednesday or Thursday.

The loss of the NFC Offensive Player of the Week was originally qualified as “rest/knee injury.”

Missed a day of practice after a career-best rushing game on Sunday? It’s not different. But when Patterson missed practice on Thursday for the same reason, there were rumblings that something might be wrong.

Patterson returned to practice on Friday, but in a limited capacity. Arthur Smith confirmed after training that Patterson will be asked to play on Sunday when the Falcons host the Browns at home. Smith said the Falcons will make a final decision on Patterson on Saturday. They will continue to evaluate his knee.

Meanwhile, the Browns announced after practice that Myles Garrett and Jadeveon Clowney are both asked to play in Atlanta. That means there are a few big names to watch pre-game for both teams.
