Actor Lee Ji-han, who appeared in the second season of Mnetu’s men’s K-pop contest “Produce 101,” and Kim Yu-na, who served as a cheerleader for LG Twins and Kia Tigers, were among the 154 victims who died in the crash Itaewon on a Saturday night.
Lee and Kim were 24 years old.
Lee 935 Entertainment released a statement on Sunday confirming that Lee had died among the crowd in Itaewon in downtown Seoul.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the Lee family, who are deeply saddened by the sudden tragedy, and to all those who love and value the actor, and those who mourn Lee Ji-han,” the agency said.
“Actor Lee Ji-han has been a considerate and warm friend to everyone,” adds 935 Entertainment. “We will remember Lee Ji-han, who had a long passion for acting.”
Lee appeared in “Produce 101” in 2017. He started his acting career in 2019 with the internet drama Today Was Another Namhyun Day.
Most recently, Lee was cast in the new MBC series “Season of Kkok-du” opposite Kim Jun-hyun and Lim Soo-hyang, which would be his television debut.
Kim, who made her debut as a cheerleader for the LG Twins baseball team in 2016 and later worked for the Kia Tigers, also died in the crowd.
On Kim’s social media, friends and fans expressed their condolences.
