Hardin spectators remember the Thanksgiving Day Parade experience

HARDIN – Two Hardin High School cheerleaders have been selected to perform in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Now back home from New York City, SWX had a chance to catch up with the pair of Bulldogs.

They said they learned a routine in the months leading up to the parade, and then had a three-hour week of rehearsals before the big day to get the dance together with 500 other high school cheerleaders from around the country.

Lacey Wells and Valeria Viccarra were the only two cheerleaders in attendance representing Treasure State.

“It was really fun. And really crazy, and pretty hectic,” Lacey Wells said.

They also said the coaches there helped them improve their skills.

“Yeah, they’re definitely picky about every little thing. Even if there’s a huge group, they always know exactly what you’re doing wrong,” Wells said.

Valeria Viccarra added: “There has been a big improvement, just from us, from the dance, from the skills and from everything.”

Not only will the girls bring new skills back to their team, but they will also teach their team Hardin the parade routine for the basketball season.
