The local entertainer has become an All-American

TOWN OF DICKINSON, NY (WIVT/WBGH) – A local cheerleader is heading to Florida to perform under the bright lights of one of the biggest games in the country.

Natalie Lamando is a freshman at Chenango Valley High School and a member of the cheerleading squad.

At the team’s recent tryout for the annual national cheerleading competition, Lamando was encouraged by her coaches to also try out for the All-American cheerleading team.

She said she had no intention of getting tested but decided it wouldn’t hurt to try.

After performing the dancing, jumping, and cheering segments for the judges, she soon found out that she had been selected as an All-American.

Lamando said: “I’m really excited because this could be a once-in-a-lifetime thing, so I’m using this opportunity because maybe I can go somewhere with this and show what I’m like to other people and just get my skills out there. the world.”

Lamando will be cheering at this year’s Citrus Bowl in Orlando on January 2nd.

The game will be broadcast nationally on ABC and features the LSU Tigers football team taking on the Purdue Boilermakers.

She said her uniform arrived in the mail last weekend and had received the group’s routine via email.

Lamando said she may not have been the most skilled person at tryouts, but she let her passion and spirit carry her forward.
