The Cincinnati Bengals take on the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LVI on Sunday at the home of the Rams, SoFi Stadium in California.
In addition to the action and drama during the match, fans will also be treated to a star-studded halftime show, as well as cheerleaders from both franchises.
Such is the beauty of NFL cheerleaders, perhaps it’s no surprise that a lot of past and present players have dated cheerleaders in the past.
These include a former San Francisco 49ers quarterback and an iconic tight end, so here are five NFL stars who dated cheerleaders.
Matthew Stafford

Prior to his time with the Lions, he led the Georgia Bulldogs to three straight bowl wins and even met his wife Kelly Hall while in college.
Hall was a Bulldogs cheerleader and she and Stafford ended up getting married in 2015 and now have four daughters together.
David Nelson

It was during his two years in Buffalo that he dated former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader Kelsi Reich.
After scoring a touchdown against the Cowboys during the 2011 season, Nelson even ran to Reich in celebration and hugged his then-girlfriend.
The couple is no longer together and Nelson is now married with two children.

He has since moved on to broadcasting, but has maintained a close connection with his former team and has reportedly dated one of its iconic cheerleaders.
Back in 2011, Aikman was linked to cheerleader Abigail Klein after his divorce from his first wife Rhonda Worthey.
While some reports suggested that the pair were just friends, many also speculated that they were dating for a short period.
Alex Smith
Another former NFL quarterback, Alex Smith’s career has seen him appear for the 49ers, Kansas City Chiefs and Washington.
He was also married to a former Oakland Raiders cheerleader for more than a decade after they first met in the mid-2000s.
Smith married Elizabeth Barry in 2009 and the couple currently have three children together.
Chris Cooley
Chris Cooley is seen by many in Washington as one of the best tight ends in franchise history, despite only spending eight years in the NFL.
During his time with Washington, he began dating a cheerleader Christy Oglevee, who lost her job as a cheerleader for “fraternizing with a player.”
The couple tied the knot in 2008, but their marriage only lasted four years before they finalized their divorce in 2012, the same year Cooley retired.
