PORTAGEVILLE, Mo. Patricia Diane Mamaw Tribble was called home surrounded by the family she loved so much to be embraced by her lifelong Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, August 28, 2022.
Diane was born August 5, 1944 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Elsie Mae (Pat) Henson and Alfred Roland Henson. She graduated from Portageville High School in 1962, where she met and eventually married her husband of 60 years, Gilbert Wayne Tribble. Diane, affectionately known as “Miss Wonderful,” truly exemplified her own senior year book notation that read, “What others say about us is far more significant than what we say about ourselves,” as she lived her life with grace, beauty and always care. second first Diane was involved in many school activities including Majorette, Cheerleader, Student Council Treasurer, Yearbook Staff, Mixed Choir and she was chosen as Miss Undercurrent Queen and Senior Maid.
After graduating from high school, Diane continued to help others when she worked as an assistant to Dr. Andrew Painter in Portageville and as a counselor and administrative assistant at Bryan High School in Texas for many years. She was famous for her culinary skills, which were most evident during the holidays, which she happily anticipated and spent weeks in advance preparing and cooking an endless array of dishes. While she loved to cook, her greatest joy was spending time with her six grandchildren and watching them go through life’s ups and downs while always being there to support them and listen as only a loving grandmother can.
Diane exemplified what should be most important in this short life before our eternal rest. She called it the 3 F’s: Faith, Family and Friends and she was fiercely devoted to everyone in a calm, brave and peaceful way that was amazing to witness. Diane always made everyone she came in contact with feel special, loved and worth getting to know. She loved life and loved her family even more, including her beloved dog, Misty.
Diane is survived by her daughter, Julie Abbott and husband Winston; son, Michael Tribble and wife Wimberly; grandchildren, Paige Broach Abbott, Landon Broach Abbott, Tripp Abbott, Reed Abbott, Bailey Tribble, Kallie Tribble; brother, Allen Henson and wife Karen; sister, Vicki Klaus and husband Nelson.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
A memorial service will be Saturday, February 25, 2023 in Texas.
DeLisle Funeral Home of Portageville is in charge of arrangements.
