LEMONT, IL — The Lemont Hornets’ Lightweight cheerleading squad recently completed a successful season with a third-place finish in the Illinois Cheer Association state competition.
The team, made up of second, third and fourth grade girls, has bids for the state in two qualifying competitions this season.
“I’m so proud of these girls,” Head Coach Anna Howard told Patch. “They’ve faced a lot of challenges this season due to illness and injury. We’ve really kept them on their toes!”

“A lot of [the girls] had never cheered before,” said Howard. “Winning third is a testament to what an incredible little athlete they are!”
