WINCHESTER, Ind. – A former cheerleading coach at Monroe Central High School told a deputy that the three students he showed the mugshot to were his “friends.”
Hanna L. Gilmer, 28, of Muncie, was charged Wednesday in Randolph Superior Court with three counts of distribution of substances harmful to minors, a Class 6 felony that carries up to 30 months in prison.
Gilmer was arrested Dec. 7 after school administrators told deputies they were “concerned about a cheerleading coach who may have shared inappropriate material with some members of her team.”
According to court documents filed Wednesday, three cheerleaders — all 17 years old — said Gilmer showed them a photo on his cell phone of “a man standing in front of a mirror, completely naked.”

The minors also said Gilmer showed them “pictures, videos and chat massages” that documented her online interactions with two men, one of whom was the coach’s husband.
Gilmer filed for divorce on Nov. 1 in Delaware District Court for 5 years, records show.
One cheerleader said Gilmer “cut her out of practice and told her to read all the messages on (the coach’s) phone between Gilmer and her husband and boyfriend.”
The teenager said she found the messages “uncomfortable to read as some of them were very sexual in nature”.
When interviewed by Detective Chad Puterbaugh, Gilmer stated that he had become (in his eyes, more friends (with some of the cheerleaders) than their coach).
Gilmer said she “shared information (with the cheerleaders) that she shouldn’t have shared about her personal life and her pending divorce.”
Randolph County Jail officials said Wednesday that Gilmer is not being held there.
In an email to staff last week, Monroe High School Superintendent Adrian Moulton said Gilmer “has been terminated effective immediately from his employment at Monroe Central High School.”
