Altoona High School Cheerleader Laura Reed is currently in London to perform in their New Year’s Day Parade.
She is one of eight Pennsylvania cheerleaders who auditioned for the role at the United Cheerleader Association Camp. This is not her first appearance abroad. She also performed in Hawaii for the Pearl Harbor Parade last year.
She spoke to us directly from London about the experience.
“It’s a great opportunity because it can boost your confidence, make a bunch of different friends in the US, but it’s also something people can look for when they get accepted into college. You have a reason to travel to all these different places. Without cheerleading we wouldn’t be here and I probably wouldn’t get a chance to go to London.”
