Matanzas cheerleaders perform in London’s New Year’s Day Parade

Two varsity cheerleaders from Matanzas High School traveled to London to perform in London’s New Year’s Day Parade.

Seniors Kendall Duckett and Julianna Bogdanov made the Varsity Spirit All-American team at theirĀ annual cheer camp in July at Embry-Riddle University. Several girls from the camp were chosen, but only Duckett and Bogdanov chose to collect the money and make the trip to England.

They were among Varsity Spirit All-American cheerleaders from around the country who participated in the parade. More than 8,000 performers in 70 performance groups, including marching bands, cheerleaders and dancers, participated in the parade.

Duckett and Bogdanov flew to London with the other All-American cheerleaders on December 26. During the week before the parade they visited London sites andĀ toured Windsor Castle. They performed in the January 1st parade along the streets of London past iconic locations such as Berkeley Square, Big Ben, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus and the Ritz Hotel. They left home on January 2nd.
