Jessica Simpson gave fans a blast from her past in a new post on Instagram. The star wore an old piece of clothing, her school cheer jacket. “Found my 8th grade cheerleader letter jacket,” Simpson wrote alongside a sweet photo of her in the green and yellow jacket that has her name stitched on the front. She paired the nostalgic garment with an orange beanie.
The post also took her sister, Ashlee Simpson Ross, on a trip down memory lane. “Yes!” she wrote in the comments. “Go Vikings! 😂” Last year, the singer made a surprise appearance at one of Demi Lovato’s HOLY FVCK tour stops to sing her 2004 hit “La La.”
Simpson’s famous friends also made comments to react when he put on his old jacket. “Come on girl,” actress Sharon Stone wrote. Queen of the 2000s, Paris Hilton, who recently announced her return to music, left a heart-eyed emoji in the photo.
Late last year, Simpson made headlines as fans were concerned for her well-being after she shared an ad online that many believed showed her acting strangely. The ad was for Pottery Barn Kids and featured Simpson showing her 3-year-old daughter Birdie’s room. Fans took advantage of the comments to point out that the star sounded like she was struggling to get her words out.
Days later, Simpson posted a clip of herself singing in her studio with a lengthy caption about how “people’s comments and judgments can still hurt deeply with their relentless nagging.” While he didn’t directly address people’s concerns, he did offer insight into his personal life. “The most important thing I’ve learned over the past 5 years without alcohol being a guard against escapism, is that I CAN and ALWAYS will get over it,” she wrote in the caption. “I am capable of almost anything that I care enough to put my mind to. I am present. I am deeply inspired. I am determined.”
