Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid lived up to his nickname on Twitter ahead of Saturday night’s game in Utah. Hilariously interrupting the Jazz dance team’s pre-game routine, the 76ers center successfully controlled the fans at the game.
As part of their pre-game routine and preparation, players frequently enter the court before the game. However, this routine may conflict with pre-game entertainment arrangements.
Such a situation occurred before the 76ers v Jazz game, when Embiid stomped on the floor just before the Jazz dance team’s pre-game performance.
The 76ers big man was hilariously caught in the middle of the set as they started to take the field. However, Embiid seemed unconcerned. Fulfilling his duties and getting ready on schedule, the 76ers star simply picked up the ball and went to work while the dancers did their thing around him.
While Embiid’s actions may not have had much of an impact on the routine, Embiid may have successfully set the tone for the game. With the 76ers walking away with a victory against the Jazz after an emotional game, Philadelphia may have enjoyed some psychological advantage.
Joel Embiid has gained a reputation as a troll in the NBA. With his Twitter nickname being “Troel”, Embiid continues to live up to his name with his antics both on and off the court.
Embiid’s actions often had little consequence. Considering most of his antics aren’t the most outrageous and are usually just timely hits, the 76ers center gets more positive attention than negative.
With famous jabs like the one he landed on Ben Simmons moments after the news of the Simmons trade was announced, Embiid cemented his reputation as a top troll. This aspect of the 76ers’ superstar was highlighted recently before the Utah Jazz game.

Joel Embiid puts immense pressure on most inside defenses. This makes him spend a significant amount of time on the charity track. Going 10-13 from the free throw line on Saturday night, the 76ers’ superstars certainly made things difficult for the Jazz’s big men.
However, James Harden was the star of the night for the 76ers. Harden missed an impressive 31 points, six rebounds and 11 assists to lead the team to a 118-117 victory.
Harden has recently gained attention for his impressive performances in the absence of Joel Embiid. With Embiid returning from injury and Harden at the top of his game, the 76ers will be hoping their superstar duo maintain their form as they share the court together as well.
