ORLANDO – The University of Cincinnati cheerleading team and Bearcat mascot became national champions again this weekend at the 2023 Collegiate Cheerleading and Dance Championships at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports Complex.

- The cheer team won the Division IA Coed Cheer Game Day National Championship with a score of 97. - UC edged out Tennessee and USF for first place.
- A few hours after cheerleading proved to be the nation’s best, the Bearcats also became national champions.
- Dressed in a firefighter costume and performing a hilarious routine that included various props and dances to pop hits by Cardi B and Chamillionaire – among others, the Cincy Bearcat scored an 88.8 to take first place ahead of the Tennessee and Auburn mascots, who rounded out the top three.
