Falcons release statement on defensive coordinator Dean Pees

NEW ORLEANS – Falcons defensive coordinator Dean Pees was pulled off the field prior to Atlanta’s Week 15 game against the Saints. A player collided with Pees on the field during warm-up. Tendon was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.

Here is the Falcons official statement:

Atlanta Falcons Defensive Coordinator Dean Pees was involved in a pregame collision on the field.

He was stable, alert and responsive and was transported to the University Medical Center in New Orleans for medical examination.

Frank Bush will serve as interim defensive play caller for today’s game.”

“He’s one of the great defensive coordinators in the National Football League,” said Ravens coach John Harbaugh, who coached Pees in Miami, Ohio, in 2022. “No doubt about it.” In his NFL career, Pees had a top-10 defense in seven yards allowed, eight points allowed, and five takeaways.
