Priyanka Chopra turns ‘RRR’ cheerleader in Oscar race, attends US screening with SS Rajamouli and MM K

The fan club ‘RRR’ has got a brand new recruit. It’s none other than Priyanka Chopra! The ‘Barfi’ actress, who attended one of the several screenings of the Rajamouli directorial in the US, took to Instagram to drop pictures of the event and wrote, “The least I can do to contribute to this incredible Indian film journey. Good luck and congratulations to the team.” In the pictures, the star was seen wearing a black polo neck shirt, dark blue blazer and light brown trousers as she posed with a million dollar smile with Rajamouli and composer MM Keeravani.

The actress also gushed over ‘Joyland’, Pakistan’s official entry in Oscars ’23, describing Saim Sadiq’s directorial as “a joy to watch”. She wrote on Instagram: “Joyland is truly a joy to watch. Bravo to the entire team for bringing this story to life. It’s a must watch.” The film that explores a passionate but doomed romance between Biba, a transgender dancer (Alina Khan) and Haider (Ali Junejo), a theater dancer who comes from an orthodox family.

Apart from this, she also hosted a special screening for the film ‘Chhello Show’ (‘The Last Show’), which is also India’s official entry to the 95th Academy Awards. The event took place at the Los Angeles residence of Reliance Industries heiress Isha Ambani. In her Instagram post, she wrote a heartfelt note, “The least I can do is always support the industry that taught me everything I know about my job. So proud of the amazing films coming out of Indian cinema . ‘Chhello Show’ is one of the special ones. Good luck team! Go get them,”

On the work front, she will front the romantic comedy ‘Love Again’. Directed by James. C. Strouse, the film will feature her opposite Sam Heughan. Pop star Celine Dion is all set to make a special appearance in the film.
