The Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals are less than an hour away from kickoff of Sunday afternoon’s AFC Divisional Round playoff game.

As Buffalo gears up for kickoff, the Bills and their fanbase don’t have any cheerleaders on the team. But that’s nothing new.

Buffalo is one of the few NFL franchises not to have a cheerleading team. But that wasn’t always the case.

The Bills had their own cheerleaders, the Buffalo Jills, for several decades. However, there was a legal battle between the Jills and the franchise over alleged payment problems.

Buffalo’s cheerleaders haven’t existed since 2013.

“Recent events concern the Buffalo Bills, who supported the officially independent Buffalo Jills cheer team from 1966 to 2013. Several formal cheerleaders filed a lawsuit against the Bills organization, and ties were severed. The Buffalo Jills disbanded later that year,” the report said.

So don’t expect to see Bills cheerleaders on the field Sunday afternoon.

Kick-off between the Bills and the Bengals is scheduled for 3 p.m. E.T.
