Former culture secretary Nadine Dorries has become the latest former Tory minister to quit her television show.

The romance writer and MP, 65, has been handed TalkTV’s Friday night show – and will interview former prime minister Boris Johnson during the first episode next week.

It is unlikely to be the most difficult journey for the former boss. He appointed Ms Dorries to the cabinet since he was ousted last July and she has been one of his loudest and strongest supporters.

Ms Dorries has repeatedly called for him to be reinstated and said the Tories face an election wipeout without him.

TalkTV said Nadine’s Friday Night, which starts on February 3, will be ‘an irreverent look at the week’s news and a live mix of topical discussions with guests from the worlds of politics, culture and sport’.

It comes just days after GB News revealed that former business secretary Jacob Rees-Mogg, who was a minister under Mr Johnson and Liz Truss, will join as a proposal.

Former Tory minister Esther McVey – a former journalist – and her husband, MP Philip Davies, also have their own show on the channel.

‘Boris Johnson continues to dominate much of the political conversation since he left No.10. Now is the time to find out what he really thinks about many important issues.’

Richard Wallace, Head of Talk TV, the news broadcaster, added: ‘Nadine has a unique voice in British politics and she will bring that unique voice to our airwaves.

“She’s had a seat at the top table of British politics at extraordinary times; she knows all the key players and has a real insight into how the channels of power really work.

“And, like the old nurse, she’s one of the very few politicians who has put down a proper job and is worried about paying the bills, so our audience will be happy to take it.”
