Will the Detroit Lions ever gain respect?

I really feel like we’re getting it, but it wasn’t enough to land a key nominee on the NFL shortlist.

On Wednesday, the finalists for eight of the Associated Press’ top NFL awards were announced.

Dan Campbell was not nominated for coach of the year, which was a shocker. In the running are Bills’ Sean McDermott, Eagles’ Nick Sirianni, 49ers’ Kyle Shanahan, Giants’ Brian Daboll and Jaguars’ Doug Pederson. The Lions didn’t get any MVP picks either. What is wrong with these people?

From the AP, the Lions received nominations for Assistant Coach of the Year with OC Ben Johnson and Defensive Rookie of the Year with DE Aidan Hutchinson. Find the entire list here
