Did you know Matt Patricia was still on the Detroit Lions payroll? That’s how these contracts work. Now Patricia is officially no longer being paid by the Lions as that contract has expired. My friend Brad Berreman at SideLionReport.com says that “Matt Patricia may be out of a job because the Lions are no longer paying him.”
The Patriots will definitely go in a different direction with their offensive play caller and maybe Belichick will give the new person the actual title of offensive coordinator. Asking Patricia to do something on a side of the ball that he’s never done is setting him up to fail.
Time will tell, but for now the Lions are looking forward, not back, so we’re not really interested in Patricia’s future. Read Berreman’s full story here.
