PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College cheerleading squad placed sixth in the nation at the 2023 UCA College Championships in Orlando, Florida on January 14-15. This is the first time the Friars have reached the UCA Tournament.

The team began competing at the UCA National Championships in 2019. The program’s goal since its inception was to qualify for the Finals. After all the teams have performed in the Semifinals, the judges have determined 50% of the teams that will advance to the Finals. Those top teams then repeat their routines in the Finals to determine placement.
